Has anyone tried the MadBull Noise Maker Adapter? Particularly for silencing purpose. The advertising diagram seems to indicate it can silence an airsoft gun with an empty Coke bottle. Does it really work?
I tried some tests with an empty water bottle last night. I drilled a hole at the bottom of the bottle let the BB shoot through. Then I used sport tape to fasten it to a CO2 non-blowback pistol. Then I dry-fired to test. It didn't sound silent.
I think it did suppress the sound coming out of the nozzle. But that sound is so low compared to the sound from the airsoft gun that it is negligible.
What is your experience?

Ok, I figured out a way to test it for sure. I downloaded "Sound Meter Lite" on my Google LG Nexus 5 (Android). It seems to be calibrated to the Nexus 5 pretty well, because the ambient sound level I was measuring matched its list of locations. Using this app, I got the following measurements with my Combat Zone Enforcer CO2 airsoft pistol:
Dry Firing: 75 dB
Dry Firing with Silencer: 78 dB
Firing BB: 78 dB
Firing BB with Silencer: 78 dB
As you can see, it makes no difference with or without the silencer. Therefore, an empty water bottle in front of the muzzle makes no difference at all on an airsoft gun.
