Close-quarter battles (CQB) puts a constraint of the size of your firearms. Out in the big battlefield, a full size assault rifle is necessary to pack a punch from a distance. But no full size assault rifles can be beat the nimbleness of a small CQB firearm in close quarters. And that's when the smaller submachine guns excel.
The following photo shows the well-know Heckler & Koch MP5 replica by Cyma and the custom, super-small M4 by APS. The two guns are virtually the same size. Although the MP5 looks a little shorter, it is actually a tad longer if the flash suppressor has been installed.
The Cyma MP5 does have an adjustable shoulder stock that can be extended when space allows, so it's somewhat more versatile than the APS M4.
