Many reviews for the Cyma CM023 MP5 airsoft gun complains about the high capacity magazine that comes with the gun. Basically, the claim is that it doesn't work, which is most likely caused by the slop in the magazine engagement; once the hi-cap magazine is inserted into the gun, it still moves up and down by about half-an-inch.
After I got this MP5, I also experienced the slop in the hi-cap magazine. And it's obviously not going to feed the hop-up with that slop. Pulling the hi-cap magazine out, I compared the hi-cap magazine to the low-cap version, which works great. I noticed that they are exactly the same in the rifle engagement area.
So if the low-cap magazine has no slop, why does the hi-cap magazine have a slop? The answer is that the hi-cap magazine has a higher tolerance. If you are experience the slop, you basically haven't inserted the hi-cap magazine far enough into the CM023 rifle for the locking mechanism to engage. You have to slam it in there pretty hard.
I found that once you get the high capacity magazine to engage the locking mechanism once or twice, it became extremely easy to engage all the time. At this time, my hi-cap magazine worked as well as the low-cap magazine that worked perfectly from day one.
