As the AR15 pistols become more popular in the firearms world, we are seeing more and more M4 pistols being marketed in the airsoft world. The community is seeing a trend to use these shorter and smaller version of the M4, because of the increasing number of CQB fields that are being build. A smaller rifle is easier to maneuver in tight spaces.
But many rifle-pistol-hybrids do not come with full shoulder-able stocks. That increases instability and confidence. Luckily, most M4 pistols uses standard M4 receiver parts. That means you can install a standard M4 retractable shoulder stock or a standard M16 non-retractable shoulder stock onto it without any problems. Simply unscrew the buffer tube that comes with it and screw on a standard should stock buffer tube instead. Just a quick search for "shoulder stock" on AirsoftMegastore.com provides plenty of M4 options.
If you want a shoulder stock that is shoulder-able, but doesn't make your M4 look like what everyone have, go the science fiction route. Airsoft3D makes an M4 adapter that lets you mount a number of different futuristic shoulder stocks. They come in various length and sizes. See its collections on Sculpteo and Shapeways.
Have you built a unique airsoft M4 pistol? Are you concerned that maybe your rifle-pistol-hybrid is not built for operation efficiency? Leave a comment, tell us what is worrying you, or show us a photo of your gun, and we'll see if the Airsoft SpecOps community can offer their initial impressions. Beware: once you ask you have to be brave enough to handle the criticism.

Weblog: Airsoft SpecOps
Excerpt: While browsing airsoft rifles, I came across the APS ASR106 Mini Patriot M4. It's a full metal gun with no stock and very short barrel. It's almost like a pistol with electronic blowback.
