My friend has the A&K Masada DMR. It's got the ambidextrous magazine release latch. It's much improved over the standard M4 magazine release latch. But it also has more moving parts. It hinges on a spring-loaded dowel pin. After a few uses, the pin would work itself out, causing the magazine release latch to fail.
After being plagued with this problem, my friend has came up with a simple solution (see photo below). Using a paper clip that's cut into many pieces, he fits three of them into the mag release mechanism. He bents them to keep them from falling out. It works well and is a very simple fix.
