So I got the APS UAR V2 recently. In this new version, the battery connector is located in the shoulder stock. Although I think this is a good improvement, I wish they provided additional battery wiring to the top, stick battery location, where it is on the V1. That way you have a choice to use a stick battery in the shoulder stock or a stick battery on top; I happen to have a few for my VSS Vintorez.
Conceptually, this seems like an easy mod to accomplish... Find mini-Tamiya battery extender and wire it through the gun.
The problem, I couldn't find mini-Tamiya battery extenders anywhere. It feels like no one ever cared to extend their battery connector.
Even so, it's still not a hard mod to accomplish. Just buy two mini-Tamiya connectors, get some long wires, and wire up an extender yourself.
But if we are going to go that far, how about wiring the top connector directly into the existing wiring, in parallel to the shoulder stock battery connector. Are you following? That allows you to use two batteries at the same time, practically doubling the battery capacity.
Hmmm... not sure which way I'll go yet. Your thoughts?
