MilSim airsoft players (including myself) hate high capacity magazines. You know, the ones that holds 300 rounds, rattles like crazy, and forces you to wind it all the time. But even the annoying high cap magazines have their uses for MilSim players.
One, use it as a backup magazine. Yes, you should carry one with you at all times. Because your seven MilSim magazines won't help you if your speed-loader breaks in the middle of the day. A high cap magazine doesn't need a speed-loader, so you can continue playing (with a little annoyance) if you have a high cap on hand.
Two, use it during tinkering. Most of us airsoft players like tinkering with our guns. After every tinkering session, we want to fire test shots. Reloading 30 round magazines when you are trying to get your gun to work is not much fun. With a high cap magazine, you can focus on fixing your gun, rather than being distracted with loading BB's.
Is there other uses for high cap magazines? Share your thoughts.
